Short term use than clean time than short term relapse

Hi there,

 

I had a really quick question, I was using approx 2-4 mg of Xanax for about a month or less than did a cold turkey withdrawal. I made it about 16 days and felt okay.

 

Somehow I relapsed and have been taking Xanax for about two weeks give or take a couple of days of not taking it at all. In this time it ranged from 1mg to 3mg.

 

I was wondering what am I able to do I rather not go through that cold turkey again. I have about 6mg left of Xanax, can I just wait 2 day-3 day and if I feel extremely bad take .5 if needed? taper off this way?

If its better just to Cold Turkey it I will do that as well. I have not taken any today and if its a good idea I will flush the rest down the toilet

This is one of those gray areas where it's impossible to say how to proceed for sure.  If it were me I'd probably try to just stop and if things got too bad I would use some of the few pills left over to help get me through.

 

It could be that you won't have any symptoms if you just cold turkeyed recently with little or no problem.  If you reinstated because you were symptomatic, then starting up again and trying to come off cold turkey (or rapidly) may be difficult.

 

Since Xanax works fast you can probably try to stop and see what happens.  You might be just fine.

Thank you for the reply. I am trying not to do them but I am saving them just in case.

 

I re used after my cold turkey because unfortunately they were in front of me and it happened.

 

As for the first cold turkey it was not easy but it was not hell as I have read a lot of on forums.

 

I will see how the first two days go. I believe Withdrawal starts on the second day for Xanax?
