Okay Buddies this is my kudos to myself.  I am having a hard time accepting the reality of a slow liquid taper, but know this is in my best interests.  So without further a due.....

I am now down to .349 mg Xanax.  Started the liquid taper at .375.

This is just so darn slow.  But I know slow and steady wins the race?  Slow and Steady beats the Beast!!!

I don't believe anyone complained that they tapered too slowly. So good going!

Robert is such a cutie. :smitten:

Yes, isn't he? But he is such a troublemaker. He likes to hide poop in his mouth and bring it inside and hide it somewhere. A few days later I wake up and say to myself, something stinks around here. Lo and behold it's dried poop behind the couch. Wanna borrow him? ;D

Iwishiknew: you're doing great 😊

Yes slow and steady, you got this  :smitten:

As soon as Robert stops playing the hide and seek poop game  I will be happy to have him over. He can have a play date with my dogs and parrot.  Just before you pick him up I will let him play with the horses in the corral-it will be like old times for you!

Nice. But Robert will be expected to retrieve that parrot as he IS a retriever. lol.

I am now down to .298-still slow as molasses.  My enthusiasm is waning.  Need to update my signature.

Benzogirl-does Robert fly?  If he doesn't now-he will soon when my dynamic duo mother and daughter horse team get a hold of him.  Oh Robert-watch out, Missy and Tessa may look like fun but-well you will find out.

Gilly-thank you.

That dose will go down. I know as I am sick to death of tapering as well but I did a dry MT off the evil K. I recall I started that at .625 mg, and Bennie told me to throw my calendar out and so I did and just dealt with it without paying much attention to it. But that's hard when you have to mix up batches. You'll get there and be forever grateful for going slowly. Oh Robert does not fly, just off the dock, when he gets ready for the dock jumping tests. Now he is scared that you mentioned those animals. He does not like horses. I am so allergic to them if I stand in a state where one is held, I break out in big rashes. I can't go anywhere near them. And I took riding lessons when I was a kid. WTH? ???

Finally found something to keep Robert the troublemaker in line.  But you-you just ruined your surprise.  I was planning on bringing you to Oklahoma for your next vacation.  But a firmer equestrian allergic to horses-c'mon!!

I dunt get it. I rode horses every summer for 15 years. Then when I was at home I took fancy dancy English riding lessons. Then I went to an allergist when I was older and he put a drop of horse hair on my arm. He came back later and while others had a few red bumps on my arm, this one was the size of a baseball! Scared the crap outta me.

IWIK,

This is fantastic news!  I know it's slow as molasses but that's the way to do it I keep hearing.  Life goes on anyway so might as well enjoy it as we're tapering.

I'm still in a hold and happy that things are some easier.  Some days I do feel worse, even with the hold -- but that convinces me about the non-linear reality of this whole healing jazz.  And the numbers are going down for you!

Best to you!

Thanks for the reassurance.  I'm not exactly enjoying life right now although it could always be worse.  I'm thankful for what I don't have(symptom wise).    I'm in a bit of a tired and depressed state lately.  Had to rush my son to the ER Thursday night.  He has seizures and he had a reaction to a cold medicine-it wasn't pretty.  It was an all night ordeal.  My husband was afraid we wouldn't get home in time for me to take my daily poison.  I despise that ball and chain.  Then the next two days I had to keep a very close eye on him to make sure he was truly himself again.  I was really doing well before that happened-and hopefully I will be again.

Glad to hear your hold is helping.

This too shall pass.

Well If you could deal with that kind of stress then things are definitely better  IWIK?!?  Having a sick kid is pretty extreme.  And while life is different than it was a year ago for me  before i started to taper-- it's sure better than it was six months ago.... and I know it will get better for all of us if we simply take it slow enough....

I'm still dosing many times a day so know what you mean by the ball and chain...  I have a pill holder that I keep in my pocket and touch like a talisman to make sure it's with me all the time

Sorry you had to go through that IWIK.

Benzos are difficult enough. Having a sick child must be terrible. I'm glad you both made it through this. You are very strong. Wishing you the best. :smitten:
