Hi, I want to taper off ativan safely

Hi thanks for providing such a nice place for benzo support. I right now take 3mg ativan, i started with 1mg 3 years ago for [edited]insomnia and anxiety issue, over time it went up to 3mg. I am at 3mg since 1 year now. I want to safely taper off it probably with titration method. I also want to watch out for any pitfalls like doing it too fast etc.

Hi rako87 Welcome to Benzobuddies

 

We are glad you found us.  The general recommendation is to taper no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days, it is okay to go slower, whatever rate you are comfortable with. If you look at the top of the titration board, you will see some stickie threads with information you might find useful.

 

We have a great community here of knowledgeable and friendly people who understand this process.  Feel free to ask questions so that members can respond
