HELP -- how to taper 0.5mg Klonipen taken 1x day at night

I thinking I'm experiencing rebound pain during the day. Tingles, headaches, muscle pain, etc.

 

How do I do a taper from 0.5mg Klonipen taken only at night. How much Valium and when? Timetable? Thanks so much.

I'm not an expert who can answer but my own experience was that splitting the daily K dose did not help but w/d symptoms similar to yours occur daily. I did cross over from K to Librium and start feeling better when benzo amount was less and less. At the moment I'm 4mg Librium which roughly equals 0.1mg K. For example my muscle pains vanished couple of weeks ago and I also feel less fatigue. Well, I know this is not always the case but symptoms occur several months post jump. Maybe you should consider cross over to Valium or Librium as they are long lasting and should give some stability.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I didn't know how to divide because i weaned too quickly already from .5mg Klonipen 2x a day. I actually should have cut down on daytime dose and nighttime dose.

 

I've been taking .5mg (equivalent to 10mg Valium) t night since June 16th....no wonder I feel lousy during the day. Short half life.

 

So now I'm taking 1/4 of the pill (= 2.5mg Valium) in morning and at night I'm taking 5mg of Valium and 1/4 pill of Klonipen (= 2.5mg Valium). So my daily total is = 10mg Valium and my nightly dose = 7.5mg Valium. Daily dose is equivalent to 10mg Valium. I don't know the best way to do it because right now, I need it most for sleep...

 

I will soon crossover to Valium during the day, but it will be a 2.5mg Dose.
