Hey guys,  I just started my 6th month off klonopin. I jumped at 0.03mg after a very long taper. Today I just had the most INTENSE panic attack anyone could ever imagine and I was all alone at home. . I felt like I was gonna die! I tried to relax and focus on my breathing bur nothing seemed to work and I ended up calling 911. The paramedics came,  they had to bust my door open because I couldn't even get up on my feet and after carefully checking my vitals and what not everything was fine. I'm physically healthy, my pulse and blood pressure were fine. They reasurred me it was all in my head.  After they left It still lingered for 3 hours!  Now I'm feeling a little better but very lightheaded from it. ... has anyone experienced this?  Will this go away soon?  I heard that people start to not get as much panic/anxiety after the 6th month. ... this is horrible

I'm sorry that happened to you!

I had this feeling once, but had my mom drive me to the hospital.

I've heard many many stories like this.

Now that it happened once, maybe the next time you were have better coping skills, knowing you're ok?

Hang in there, things definitely are going to start getting better.

I used to have the most horrific panic attacks, hence being put on Ativan in the first place. I have learned over the years how to cope. When you feel one coming on, the best thing I have learned, is to breath, you have a few minutes before it takes over and being very intentional, with slow, deep belly breathing for a few minutes, in thru the nose, out thru the mouth, really calms things down. I just simply do not allow the fear to take over my brain. It has taken many years to get it right, but it can be done and without meds. Good luck, I know how horrible it is. I took many trips to the ER when I first began dealing with them.
