I'm the sickest I've ever been in my life right now. This is the lowest point in withdrawal. I'm going to lay out things that could be impacting my taper. Please tell me how to make my suffering less.

1) I take 2 magnesium supplements every day because they supposedly help gaba production. Could this be harming recovery?

2) I drink a few cups of green tea because green tea contains l-theanine, which supposedly helps gaba production. Could this be harming recovery?

3) I cut 4 pills a day (to take every 6 hours), but actually split some doses in two (and take them an hour apart) because the ativan I take causes extreme side effects. My body is rejecting the drug. It feels dangerous to continually take it. How many times a day should I take it?

4) I've tried cutting to .33mg a day, but withdrawal is tremendous. I'm having extreme anxiety over non stop derealization and hyperawareness. i haven't had a window in at least a month. Should I hold or go back to .36mg?

5) I'm considering switching to a different benzodiazipine to get away from ativan. Would this even make sense at this point? I'm afraid I will die if I don't find an alternative to ativan. There's something seriously wrong with the way my body is processing the drug now.

P.S. I'm going to try a 1mg diazepam pill in place of one ativan dose tomorrow. Wish me luck. Last time I tried this, valium gave me a panic attack.

If the green tea is not decaf, it very well could be making withdrawal worse.  In regards to magnesium, many people can tolerate it, but some people can't  (I get worse symptoms if I don't take it, but some people get revved up by it).
