So a few days ago I took 2.5mg of Ativan out of desperation and I'm glad I took it caue I think it saved my life,my psychiatrist suggested a stupidly fast taper with the Prazepam and I was in hell non stop, now I can function but I'm taking 3.75mg of Ativan and they're 2.5mg pills... my psychiatrist thinks that 2.5mg of lorazepam is equal to 25mg of Prazepam which is waaay off and he told me to take 1mg of Ativan in the morning, one at lunch time and 2.5mg at night... I told him that K would be better for it's longer half life  his only reply was : I'm sending them to you in a few days, I wonder If I'll get Ativan or Klonopin or both... it's gonna be a surprise I guess, my mood has been: I don't care anymore I just wanna feel relaxed all day, I take a pill whenever I'm anxious basically.

Hi Muilav, I think you made valium tapering very well! I also know the suffering feeling and need to go back to Ativan or Klonopin and get some relief and relaxation. Do you plan to hold when you get your pills or start tapering again? If I read your signature right you haven't been benzos for a long time/years. In your situation I would stabilize first and then start slow tapering. All the success what ever route you decide to go!

I've been on benzos for 2 years, I failed to taper and now I'm taking 3mg of Ativan everyday and will hold for however long it takes to feel functional, it's gonna take some time for my body to get rid of the previous benzo so I'm suffering with a very rapid heart rate with low bp and chemical fear as well as insomnia, my hypersensitivity got better so that's a good thing.

Muilav,

I agree with Thomas and think you are making a smart choice to hold until you feel well.  Your brain has been through a lot and requires time at a steady dose to heal and prepare for a slow taper.  If you want support in your hold you should visit The Long Hold Support Group.  My hold(s) have made all the difference in getting to a place where the rest of my taper was mild and my jump (walk-off) uneventful.
