I'm just wondering the thoughts and frame of mind of those of us living the daily nightmare we cannot wake up from, and so I have a rhetorical question for you.

Feel free to answer with a simple yes or no, or give a reason for your answer, if you prefer.

Here is the question:

If someone offered you a pill, that instantly would take away all of your symptoms, and returned you to your desired normal, (basically would give you your life back)

but

at the cost of being automatically being chemically dependent on it, however, a medication that ran no risk of tolerance, but something you'd have to take forever,

...would you take it?

No. I'd rather get this hell over with so that I wouldn't have to depend on ANYTHING.

No.  Even if I wasn't physically dependent, I would still be dependent on availability.

I would have to say because after reading success stories I believe that I will be my old self again one day, this belief sustains me through dark days. I think if I didn't have this information and suspected that I would be this way forever I'd probably say yes.

Bad day

I'm sorry... I also never had a good day during withdrawal and for quite awhile afterwards.  They're almost all good ones now, and the bad ones aren't related to withdrawal or benzodiazepines (or the lack of them).

Take care, colley.  Minute at a time sometimes...

Colley I think our answer to that question has so much to do with how we are feeling in the exact moment we are answering it, and how far along the recovery road we are. I honestly would consider taking that option if given to me, I can't lie.

I'm in bed 6 days a week with very tiny windows, of an hour or two here and there. It's rough, and I get it.

Sending you good vibes. :smitten:

No, because I believe I will heal one day.  And even though a medication may be deemed "safe" with no addiction or tolerance possible, we all know that this is not the case.  Many doctors tell people that SSRIs and other psych meds are completely safe and are non-addictive.  We all know this is false.  At any point in the future, this "safe" medication could be deemed dangerous, or doctors could refuse to prescribe it, starting this nightmare over again.  Plus, there is always the possibility that this safe medication is actually doing damage long term, and you just won't know it for years.

I was told in 2005 that klonopin was safe to take for sleep and would not cause any issues.  Obviously the doctor was wrong.

Why did you have to make it a pill? you could have said electrodes on brain, blood transfusion, anything but a pill. You know we are all terrified of pills now. I hate this question But YES, after thorough research of your magic pill to make sure theres no magic pill forum saying NOOOOO! like BB's, totally yes!
