I just had a really lousy day. I guess you'd call it a tidal wave. Muscle pain weakness so bad I'd move from bed to couch, couch to bed and guess what couldn't,t sleep through any of it! Nausea and feeling faint, racing thoughts and guilt over what ; I don't know. Just took forever to decide to use a semicolon. Over Analise it dummy.  Paranoia over drinking the tap water because I ran out of the purified stuff and I was sure it made me this ill. I stated thinking the nasty should I be on the nasty klonopin? Maybe I am crazy and need to be medicated. Just started my eighth month without and I am improving then this twisted thing hits me out of know where! I had to think really hard why I decided the drugs were literally crippling me and I needed to get them out of my life. The choices are calm and crippled or a little nervous now and then. You know the the kind of stress people have that is NORMAL. I'd like to here from people why they kicked benzos to the curb. Did you doctor just decide to cut you off one day? Did you decide on your own that they were killing you? And what does recreational use means. I never got the supposed high. It would be so appreciated if someone could help me with this one. Take care.

Klonopin was causing such muscle weakness, cog fog, depression and weight loss that I felt I had to get off of this horrid drug.  I never felt well on it.  I was originally prescribed it as a muscle relaxant.

I quit because I was becoming a lazy mess. Unorganized and clumsy, I didn't care about anything and my life was slipping away. Now that I'm in withdrawal, life is painful, but I care about things again and I now see a bright future once I heal. The life I was supposed to be living.

Recreational use is if you have no anxiety at all, but you take them to feel an above and beyond effect. It's recreational if you're not taking it as prescribed.

8 months is a long time off, hang in there. Happiness awaits us! We will heal!

I stopped taking benzos (klonopin and xanax) because I could finally see they were doing me harm. I had become paranoid, antisocial, agoraphobic, terrified of being in a car, afraid I would be murdered if I left the house, and the anxiety was worse than before I started taking benzos. I wasn't paranoid and afraid of everything before and I loved being social. They stole my life from me. I always took them as prescribed but ended up addicted to them all the same.

Recreational use is when people take them for fun. If you take enough they do make you high similar to alcohol. Often recreational users mix them with alcohol which is dangerous. Many recreational users take them for the same reason prescribed users take them, it numbs you out and takes away the emotional pain. It allows you to escape for a time.
