Levaquin and beta blocker disaster

Not sure if this us the right spot for this but I was prescribed atenolol for tachycardia. The doc knew I take 3.5 mg clonazepam a day and the result was 2 days hospitalization for low blood pressure. I guess I should have done my research.  I caught a nasty sinus infection a week later and was put on levaquin. Which, after 3 days of hell I stopped taking yesterday. I did some reading on this site and was astounded. Now they gave me augmentin. I took one today and updosed to 4mg. Within an hour I had multiple anxiety attacks, my resting hr was 120+ and I thought I was going to die. My questions. I'm at tolerance so I walk a fine line with not trying to go up and planning a taper (last time was unsuccessful, tried too fast). I think I should avoid the antibiotics and take a week or so to get back to my 3.5 which barely works, or should I bump up to 3.75? I'd get some relief. My doctor won't write for over 3.5 but I have a few extra saved so I could go up for a month then have to taper back. All advice appreciated.

Not sure about those medications but I had serious issues with another beta blocker. It gave me a resting heart rate of 29. You have to be careful what u take with ativan. Almost everything sets me off and causes wd. If you only have a 3.5mg script try not to take more than that. I took 2mg once on a 1.5mg ativan script and wasn't able to adjust it. Ended up in fast taper hell trying not to run out of pills before refill date.

The Floxins  of which CIPRO and LEVAQUIN are part of that group of antibiotics have been documented to cause major withdrawal symptoms as the attach to GABAa. Just google "FLOXINS in Benzodiazapam Withdrawal" for scientific research papers.

Levaquin competes with your benzo and actually blocks it from doing its work. This would cause someone to experience worse wd. Flouroquinolone antibiotics are never to be prescribed to people on benzos or people who have ever withdrawn.

Big no no to quinolones.

For a sinus infection, a netipot works great. Can do it multiple times a day during the infection. Basically debunks the infection do your body can fight it much more easily. You don't need any antibiotics to treat a sinus infection usually.

See if you can get some amoxicillin or erythromycin or penicillin for the infection.  Augmentin is pretty rough, and I'm not sure if that for everyone or just people on benzos.  The leviquin, however, that is definitely not good for people on benzos.

I don't think updosing will really help you much cause you are waiting to stabilize after taking all these other meds.

A listed side effect of beta blockers is low heart rate and low blood pressure, as well as high.  They are weird and they really don't know all that much about why they work for some people and not for others.  My father recently took one beta blocker and got seriously high blood pressure for the next 12 hours.
