Going C/T and don't want a seizure like last time. Does ambien help?

Just wondering if ambien helps when you get off of klonopin C/T? I'm so scared. Last time I got off C/T I had a grand mal seizure. Ambien seems to be keeping my heart rate under control. I just want some suggestions or anyone who has experience with this? Thanks so much

After everything I have read here in BB, the vast majority of posts definitely do not recommend C/T for getting off of any benzo. Especially after the situation you previously experienced, I really suggest you reconsider and do a long slow withdrawal taper.

Ambien is very much like a benzo and affects some of the GABA receptors. But it will give you wild swings in blood levels (it metabolizes in hours), and I certainly don't think it would head off a seizure.

 

Why in the world you would want to cold turkey 4 mg. Klonopin after your previous experience, I can't imagine (must have run out?). I sincerely hope you rethink this, and get some medical support and do a slow taper.

Why would you c/t rather than taper, especially if you've had a seizure before?  That makes no sense.  One of the main reasons for tapering slowly IS to avoid seizures.  Ambien isn't going to help prevent seizures as far as I know.
