Been awake or brain fogged, with extreme tension too long

Been drug free but without sleep for over a year and a half. No medical help forthcoming. Called many neurologist etc. and as soon as I indicate that I have insomnia- they refuse to see me. Don't really know what type of specialist to see, who will see me. According to Ashton manual there is no treatment. Extremely lit up all the time. Do fog out for minutes at least every few days-- which only starts me back on the treadmill. My gums are receding and my nails are very brittle,, and my bowels feel terrible.

Hello, Seventsix :) - welcome to BenzoBuddies!

Unfortunstely, it's common to still experience insomnia (and other symptoms) long after withdrawal, as you've found out - but you've come to the right place to recover.

I'm so glad you decided to join the forum - you'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, so you'll be able to connect with others who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.

Based on the information provided in your introduction, the following link may be a good starting place for you to post your questions.

  Post-withdrawal Recovery Support

When you have a chance, I recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations.

Please take the time to Create a Signature. This will allow members to see where you are in the process, so that they can better support you.

Looking forward to seeing you on the forum!

How was your sleep before?

I am going to a neurologist for my insomnia. He ordered a sleep study.

I think it is not right that they refuse to see you.

How many hours of sleep do you get?
