Does anyone feel detached all day everyday? I feel like this constant
Posted
That Remeron will make you sleep big time.  You're not that far out so it's normal to be where you're at with symptoms.  I tried all kinds of psych meds when I jumped but they all made things worse so I don't take anything.  It's still hard but I'm not in a psychiatric hospital & that's progress.  It will decrease in intensity.  It just takes a very long time.  Distract with comedy.

Sorry you're suffering from this, but you're not alone.  Most of us have this 24/7 as you do.  It will get better

Does anyone feel detached all day everyday? I feel like this constant

This sensation is called depersonalization. I've had it before benzos because of pretty bad anxiety, so I know quite a lot about it.

While it's unpleasant, odd and even frightening at times, it's completely harmless. In its essence, it's a protection mechanism of your brain when faced with persistent stress and anxiety. The problem is that this sensation itself can become a source of stress when it's present for too long and you start to concentrating on it and become disturbed by it. Considering the fact that most people in benzo withdrawal face sheer terror 24/7, it makes perfect sense for the mind "to depersonalize".

Just don't research it and don't concentrate on it too much, you don't have brain damage or anything like that, it's just a symptom of elevated stress and anxiety.

Had this constantly until recently, and then it vanished quite suddenly. Just woke up one day and it was gone.

Seems as though this affects most of us rather badly.

I had this pretty bad for quite a few months. It's much better now but elevated stress or bad sleep can cause it to uptick. I've just had to learn to adjust to it. It does seem to be improving and doesn't hinder me from doing things and interacting with people anymore. If I feel myself drifting away while in a conversation or out in public I will just find something to center on and focus in to bring myself back. I'm getting pretty good at coping with this.... kinda sad.

I feel this way too. Depersonalization is a form of dissociation. You shut down in order to cope with the constant fear/trauma. There are other forms of dissociation and I have experienced them all in this withdrawal. You are not alone.

how do i know its withdrawal?

how do i know its withdrawal?

Did you experience this in your life before withdrawal? I personally did not and that's how I can tell it's withdrawal for me.

i have no clue i had a panic attack a few times when i was 21 then i was put on klonopin for so  called panic disorder, so i have no clue anymore

A panic attack is different than detachment and dissociation. Maybe when you are further removed from withdrawal you will be able to know. It sucks and I'm sorry you are going through this.
