Just made an appt. to get checked out.

I cannot take this anymore. My physical symptoms are insane. Fatigue, dizziness, horrible aching. loud ear ringing. Hip pain is nuts, glutes are killing me, pain in my lower left abdomen, groin pain. The mental is worse. I have NO concept of WHO I am. ZERO connection to myself or past accept unbearable regret and self-loathing.

Don't know what to do. I have a deadline tomorrow that I'm just started on now. Means I have to sit here alone with this monster who has become myself and draw while my body is SO horribly exhausted.

THIS CANNOT BE WITHDRAW!!!!!!! I just can't buy that!!!

Again sorry for whining!!! I just don't know what to do!!!

Glad you are going to get it checked out.  Nobody ever felt worse by going to a doctor for a physical.

Sadly all of the symptoms you mentioned are consistent with withdrawal.  I'd wager 95% of the people who took benzos have had at least one of those symptoms.

ear ringing is called tinnitus. very common.

good luck and hope you feel better soon!

It is most likely just withdrawal and a waste of a doctor appointment but I can't talk about wasted doctor appointments, because I did the same thing early in my withdrawal. At the least, though, maybe you can talk to someone about the mental issues you are experiencing.

All of the things you named are common, and can be present for a good while, unfortunately. It's just part of the process. Sorry for the bad news.

Thanks guys. I just looked in the mirror and I DON'T know myself!!!!! I look at clothes I wore a few months ago and it's like it's from another world and someone else's life!!!

Gonna go to the gym despite this horrible feeling.

Many many thanks for the support!!! :smitten:

Its all w/d buddy, but the Dr. visit might put your mind at ease. Your symptoms sound like classic benzo wd

Thanks Beat,

Hard to believe, but you are probably right.

I was only on benzos for 2 years. It took me several months to start feeling somewhat like a normal person, but probably a whole year before I was okay enough to do things like traveling or going to social interactions without complete meltdowns and anxiety attacks. I am almost 3 years off and still suffering from symptoms. It's different for everybody, but don't expect to be healed overnight after 8 years of usage. That's so much work that needs to be undone.

Try to just take it one day at a time for now! You will gradually feel better and better.

Hi Lila,

I know that it will be a long haul. I just don't know how long I can take this. It's SO disturbing!!! My thoughts are dark. I see myself as this horrible person. Totally self-absorbed.

I know I need to be patient and accept that these symptoms are just our brains healing.

Thanks again.

hi vaartist, i am way overdue for a physical but i'm avoiding it. part of it is because i don't want to go back to my GP because she is the one who prescribed me the Klonopin and i don't feel like finding a new doctor right now. but mostly it's because i don't want to be misdiagnosed. i just read a post where someone said they went to the doctor and had blood work done that said there was an issue with their thyroid, but then they went back a few months later and their thyroid was perfectly fine--basically it was just WD. just wanted to tell you this so you can be careful. if that person had gone crazy with meds and treatments for their thyroid, it could have done more harm than good. so please be careful at the doctor!!!

I went to the doctor again recently.

She was impressed with my weight loss and my blood work was fine. Not even low in Vit D!

I feel like I'm dying most days and when I told her she suggested a SSRI...again...

Hope you can get some help

That makes sense Teegirl, I just have such horrific health anxiety and this scenario of horrible disease just pummels me all day that combined with the physical nightmare, just makes things unbearable. Especially when I have to work alone and sit here at a drawing table alone. I will be careful.

Hope you are able to find a good GP who understands and can sympathize with withdraw symptoms.

Thanks ggbtd! I can relate to what you're saying. Last time I went everything was fine. They told me my EKG was perfect. The blood work came back fine as well.

It just defies logic when the body feels SO horrible.

Again thanks guy!

I have been off Valium for a year with symptoms that keep me from working. I have been refered to many doctors and they all just shake their head or suggest medication that has already failed.  I have had lots of blood work, ER visits, a CT and an MRI.

I understand why you should get checked out. It is scary, debilitating and life changing. However, I have found more answers here than any of the doctors offered. Hope you go to the doctor but also hope you stick around here.
