i need help

Hello, I'm 51 years old and I have been taking Xanax for 20 years . right now I take .05 mg 3-4 times a day. I also take Temazepam 60mg at bedtime to help me sleep. I feel like it controls my life. My goal is to one day be free of all these medication. how do I start ?

I see that you have the info about how to taper, or lots of info about how to taper with the method being your own decision. There is lots of info on this board!

I too am a long term Xanax taker who is currently tapering as you can see by my sig.  It's been quite the journey but I will say that once I settled on a method that suited me -- for withdrawal -- life got much easier.  Not a cakewalk, but easier.  Even with just tapering I can see parts of me remerging that were dormant for so long!
