I cheated and took a Xanax

I'm trying to taper off of my last .5mg of clonazepam but after 3 days benzo free I could not sleep due to anxiety so I just cheated and took 1mg of xanax. I hope this doesn't set me back too much.

It shouldn't do if you go straight back to your taper in my opinion, but the positive is that you realise it is cheating rather than calling it a 'rescue' dose when it is nothing of the kind - good luck

try to taper lower than 0.5 instead of going cold turkey... you'll have an easier time coming off a smaller dose, like 0.125 then going cold turkey

Is there a reason you are jumping from such a high dose?  I was on benzos 25 yrs and ended up tapering to a very low dose - successfully.  I could not have jumped at .5 or .25 or, or, or without untold misery.
