Terrible day. Need guidance. A voice of wisdom would be welcome. How does one tolerate a long term withdrawal scenario. I don't stabilize. PM me if you would be kind enough to talk.

Hello Newgrl,

Your need for support is completely understandable - we've all experienced this rough period.

However, for your safety, please do not solicit or share your contact info, either in PMs or in the open forum.

The guidelines are at this link, and below is an excerpt.

Thanks for understanding.

'Unfortunately, like the wider Internet, BenzoBuddies is not immune from those who would seek to misrepresent themselves as counsellors, doctors, confidants, etc. We have suffered our fair share of those whose only motivation in life is the desire to hurt others. It would be fair to describe one or two of these people as unhinged and a menace. We remind members that the PM (personal message) system is meant for chit-chat and moral support. The nuts and bolts of benzodiazepine withdrawal should be discussed on the forum boards. Please do not share your contact information and personal details through the PM system or the open forum.'

hello newgrl,

I had some serious wd the first year and had to hold for 8 months until I was well enough to continue my taper.  I had done a cut from 8mgs xanax to 2 and 3 months later did a cut from 2mgs to 1.  Not smart and took a long time holding to get back on my feet.  After those errors and fast cuts I was able to taper off the rest with only mild symptoms.  I jumped 12 days ago and it has been very mild - no acute!

I think that if you held for a while and then slowed your taper/reduced your cuts you could have a mild second half of your taper and a good shot at a mild jump.  It's a matter of finding a taper pace that keeps wd low.  And then adjusting things if necessary.  In sum...I was able to get back on track and have a decently mild rest of my taper and no acute.  I think you can too.
