First, I'd like to thank everyone who has responded to my questions in previous posts.  I am just now getting use to this site and finding my way around (when I'm feeling up to sitting at the computer).  If I haven't responded back or thanked someone - please know that I do appreciate your comments and responses very much.  THANK-YOU to ALL!

I've been told several times now by my PCP and two Pharmacists that I should skip a day between doses.  Then after a week or so - skip two days.  I'm very afraid to do that because I'm having such a hard time dealing with the withdrawal symptoms now.

Has anyone ever done this?  Is this a good idea?  THANKS!

I wish I knew because I would sure do it if it worked! Hopefully someone else will know!

Sheesh, that would scare me! I personally wouldn't do it. You can go into interdose withdrawal. I would stick to your daily dose tapering schedule, making holds as needed as per how your body responds. Not to be disrespectful to the doctors and pharmacists out there, but they have no clue as to what the taper/withdrawal process consists of. They don't know about the Ashton Manuel. Most tend to lean on the rapid taper side. Taking control of your own taper and listening to your body is the best way to get to the finish line. Your doctor and pharmacist don't have to live with fast cuts and the reprocussions but you do. Good Luck  :smitten:

When I joined this forum in May, I was alternating doses per my doctor's suggestion and my symptoms were becoming unbearable.  Someone on here told me that what I was doing was basically a recipe for disaster, as the body does much better with consistent levels of medication in the blood.  I bought a gram scale and figured out how to make small cuts and it has helped so much.  I think the skipping/alternating doses might actually work for some and that's why the doctor's/pharmacists recommend it.  My system was obviously too sensitive for that type of protocol.

Thank-you so much all for your replies.

Kristin - I have not been cutting my pill very even I don't think.  I wonder where you purchased your gram scale.  I live in Florida.  Thanks so much.

I bought it on Amazon:

There might be better models, but this one is doing well for me.  Hope this helps!
