Hello Benzo Buddies, I stopped using Ativan April 8, 2012. Over five years later, I am completely healed and feel as well as I did before this nightmare began in 2007. The first stage of feeling better was -8 months after I took the last Ativan. During these 18 months I had windows, but sxs like insomnia and high anxiety. No sxs now. So keep up your desire to be well. It will pay off. These are some things that made the first 18 months bearable:

1. Stay with BenzoBuddies

2. I exercised almost every day

3. I worked during most of the 18 months

4. I read mysteries when I could concentrate

5. I shared with husband and friends what a rough road this healing is.

6. I was careful about caffeine, but did drink chai tea from time to time.

Now, at 75 years old, I still work, love my life and know that healing takes place. I love you are fellow sufferers. This was the hardest thing I ever did, and now I am happy, happy, happy.

Thank you jennieh...I'm so happy for you .....

Is your taper listed somewhere?

I am having s very difficult Valium taper and having to go so slow... I am mostly housebound and can't do much of anything never mind work or excercise! I just turned 58 and have been worried about my age and how old I will be once healed .... You give me hope that at 75 you are working and active.... I'm hoping it will be the same for me one day!

Thanks for coming back and posting an inspiring message. I, for one, appreciate seeing Ativan success stories. Thanks also for the checklist of tips. I wish you continued success and I hope to be on the other side before long.

Congratulations, jennieh! What an inspiring journey off of benzos. You and I are close to the same age, which gives me hope that I will survive this taper. I've tried before and failed, but this time, I shall succeed. Thanks again for sharing you success story! :smitten:
