I'm now one week removed from my last dose of xanax.  I have experienced no ramping of symptoms and no hint of an acute phase.  It feels like a mild cut and things are diminishing.  I am getting optimistic that my slow taper is paying off.  I'll give it another couple of weeks before I call success.

Great News Lynn, and I am so glad that I have been here with you throughout some of your Journey. I am more optimistic reading your two threads that I will also feel the same as regular cuts, I do know it is different for everyone, but you are giving hope to those that have chosen to go slow and hold if necessary. I know the effects a harsh fast tapers will do and yes I can do this when I "slide off" it seems it is the unknown  that causes conflict, but I can watch as you go and know that I too have a good chance of not having acute. If not I still can handle whatever is tossed my way. Great attitude you have if you think you will be OK, you will is how I see it.

Thanks Thomas.  I tried to give myself the best chance at a successful taper and uneventful jump.  I'm very hopeful right now.

Hey thanks RST.  I'm a day and a half from 2 weeks and think that I have avoided acute.  It's a relief.

Hope you are well.

You give me hope that a truly slow taper is the way to go.

Wishing you a happy and healthy life.
