Trying to sleep but heart palps are bad and won't let me! :tickedoff:

Sounds like the tapering process is starting to rear its ugly head.  There are several ways to lessen the anxiety but I don't believe there's anything to alleviate it completely.

I hope other buddies chime in but I can readily offer the use of lavender essential oil, Bach's Rescue Remedy (spray on tongue), distraction, deep breathing, you tube meditations, massage AND check out magnesium (deglycyrrhizinated - which has the irritating licorice part removed).

Take a look on the other boards.  You are bound to find a few things YOU may want to try.  Good luck

For this particular issue breathing exercises are a real godsend here, if you get stabbing pains in your chest don't panic too much about that, something else you may begin to experience, lung muscle pain can occur like a stitch will and feel like a heart attack, but it's not, it's just your chest muscles asking for fresh blood

Heart palps are very bothersome for me as well.  I am three years off and they come back periodically.  The other two posters gave great suggestions to follow most of the stuff I do myself.  I think the breathing exercises is the key.  Try the 4-7-8 breathing technique.  Dr. Andrew Weil has a youtube post on the how to.  Also there is a thread in the anxiety section for heart palps that is very good.  http://www.benzobuddies.org/forum/index.php?topic=166111.msg2214785#msg2214785

I don't know the difference between the 3, I just know it's very uncomfortable!

There are lots of different heart rhythm problems. But don't worry, if you never had heart problems before then it's just bw and it will get better with time. I had bad pvcs and was so scarred but it is slowly getting better. If you want reassurance read the heart palps section on this forum. Lots of people on there sharing. And they are all still alive!
