2 1/2 years off!

I haven't been on Benzo Buddies since my 2 year anniversary off Valium and Ambien. A 30 1/2 months off I am doing great and I wanted to reiterate to those in the group who are suffering that we do heal.

Eating healthy, working out (if you can) staying positive, patience and acceptance is key to healing. Time, time and lots of time is the only true ingredient to this madness. Once you heal you forget about all of the horrible symptoms that you once endured. There is a life after benzo recovery and never doubt for one second that you won't heal. If I can heal from a cold turkey you will heal too.

You are all Benzo Warriors. Please keep going because it's worth it in the end.

Thank you!!  I was an "accidental" cold turkey - when I figured out what had sent me into hell, I felt it was too late to reinstate.  I'll always wonder if I made the right call.

I'm always looking for CT success stories - thanks so much for coming back.  :smitten:  Do you have any lingering symptoms, or sensitivities?  I'm suffering most from mental sxs - depression, anxiety, dp/dr.  Did you suffer from this, and for how long?  When you healed, did you find it difficult to reengage in life again?

Thank you, again.

I don't have any lingering symptoms. I proceeded back into life slowly. I now have adapted to living life again (except I do not drink any alcohol). A couple of sips here and there. I have seen too many people have set backs and to be very honest I don't miss drinking.

If you can exercise I highly recommend it and I do think it helped expedite my healing. Read the book Spark by Dr. John Ratey. It's a total life changer.

This is awesome to hear, especially since you CT'd. When did you officially feel 100% during the last 2.5 years?

So good to hear my buddy fran...Lord we were in the thick of it together for so long and CT'd about the same time. its been 30 long months of quite a ride. I appreciate you so much reminding me about the alcohol. I must remember it's not wise. I have come way too far to screw it up now!!

Blessings to you my BB :smitten:

I healed by about 11-12 month off (all of my symptoms abated). I feel very good every day, I am happy, I have tons of energy, I run around all day, and I sleep a solid 8 hours per night without taking anything. My cognition and memory is as sharp as it was when I was in my 20's. I'm sure a year from now I will look back and notice even more healing has taken place.
