Hello, Anxiousaddict22. Welcome to Benzo Buddies! We're glad to have you here. There is a wealth of information on this forum to help you with your taper and many buddies who will be able to share their experiences with you.

You may find these boards to be particularly helpful:

General Taper Plans

Withdrawal Support (during your taper)

You can locate our other boards with many more resources from our home page: BenzoBuddies Community Forum.

You will find stickies in bold pinned at the top of the boards. These threads contain information that our members have found to be particularly helpful. Feel free to start your own thread on the relevant board and ask any questions you may have about withdrawal and recovery. Just click on the board name and then click New Topic.

I'd also like to give you a link to the Ashton Manual. Dr. Ashton is an expert on withdrawal from benzodiazepines. Much of what we know about benzodiazepines and successful withdrawal comes from her work.

The Ashton Manual

Finally, I'd like to ask you to read the stickies on our Community Policies & Documents and to Add a signature . Doing these two things will help you to connect with our community and find the help you need.

Best wishes on your journey to health and healing,

Hi, you've come to a good place. I was on low dose Xanax and am now on low dose Valium. In total, it's been 7 Years. I'm now at 2.5 mg a day and I thought, at this point, the dose was so low that cutting further couldn't possibly produce more withdrawal. I was wrong. As most people here will tell you, it's not a race. Mind your symptoms and cut accordingly.  The symptoms are real, even low dose Valium, but if you cut lightly and hold, you'll feel progress each time you stabilize on the cut. This is my experience, anyway. What dose are you at now?
