Just want feedback please if its not advised by Ashton to quit cigs during wd, when would it be a good time? Im so haunted by it and finding it sooo hard, i dont know if i should try the jpatch again or gum or ct like bf is doing now.

Id hoped my fears would calm down a lot more by now (dying from cigs and being alone)

when i try quitting they seem to intensify like panic (Ive quit in past and didnt have this sx quitting)

any help pls?

I switched to vaping during my withdrawal. When the shortness of breath started it scared the crappydoodle out of me. I had tried too many times to go cold turkey and just couldn't do it. Switching to e-cigs has been relatively easy. I started at 24 nicotine and a year plus later I am at 12. It's well worth trying.

Nicotine withdrawal is definitely a trigger!

I am dealing with this right now. I am 12 months out. I switched from cigarettes, to snus, the gum, back to cigarettes, back to snus... now I'm trying to taper.

The problem with gum is that the lowest mg of Nicorette is 2 mg, which is much more than a light cigarette. So if you end up chewing a handful of pieces a day and keeping them in your mouth a long time, you actually end up giving yourself MORE nicotine then if you were smoking. That's what happened in my case. So when I went of the Nicorette it threw me in to crazy nic fits and nicotine withdrawal.

So I started smoking American Spirits Lights... then ultra lights.. now I just have on tin of snus.

I think I am going to try and go cold turkey after this. They say the first three days are the hardest and then it gets easier. Life already isn't easy, so I think I may tough it out. They say 3 months no nicotine and your mind is back to it was before smoking.

I think it's worth the temporary pain. Once the nicotine is out of your system you should reach a better baseline, in terms of anxiety.

Have you gone 24 hours without nicotine yet? I think I am going to try tomorrow.

If you bf is quitting that would be great support, priceless even.

Just remember they say the first 3 days are the worst, then the nicotine withdrawal depression isn't supposed to last much longer than 2 weeks.

I've felt very blue since drastically cutting back and I feel almost more freakishly aware of life... and that is scary, but I know being nicotine free will take me to a better place.

I'm going to try!

pushthefeeling - im kinda being forced to ct off. im scared of it being harder than it was for me yrs ago. Ive had gum too, 2mg and I took bites of it. 2 of them over 2 days. Nicotine is insane. should i just try ct. its stressful to try hiding anything. Its hard w bf cause he can be supportive but he can also be a huge trigger. life is confusing and to quit I just cant think about life. hard

are you trying ct now??

I am further out from klonopin than you are. but you can try! let me know how you are or what helps ok?
