Anyone else have high blood pressure ?

My doctor (not my regular primary) wanted me to start on a low dose of a beta blocker .

I've been having heart palpitations & chest pain(supposably costochondritis)

& I don't wanna add another medication to my body however I know untreated blood pressure could later result in more seriously consequences . also not sure if this high blood pressure is just from all this anxiety and withdrawal either .

Anyone have any luck or advice or tips with beta blockers ?

I'm on a beta blocker, atenolol, for my hypertension.  If you're concerned about your blood pressure or your palpitations, a low dose beta blocker may be a good idea, and since they are not benzos, if need be they can be tapered off fairly easily and quickly.  Though I had a lot of severe symptoms, I had no palpitations during my withdrawal/healing period and I credit that to the atenolol.  BTW, my anxiety about my palpitations was the main reason I was put on xanax in the first place.

I had chest pains too, but they weren't usually bad enough to be scary.  All kinds of muscle pains are very common.

I keep thinking something is wrong with my heart even after all the test

I said no to my doctor trying to get me to take bp medications and I'm so glad I did.  My bp was really high during my taper and for awhile after.  Now, after 13 months of had exercise my bp is on the low side, and my heartbeat is at a good rate.

I'm of the mindset that drugs are what got us here, and more pharma drugs will most likely just cause more harm.
