Gnawing nerve pain ALL over body!!!

Has anyone had gnawing raw nerve pain ALL over your body? It is like flesh eating pain that burns from head to toe in your skin. I dunno how else to describe it. For me, it has happened nonstop since I quit CT 9.5 months ago and I am scared this isn't withdrawal but some form of a serious illness. It just REALLY burns and flares up in every inch of my skin like my whole body is dipped in acid. It has been happening 24/7 with no let up and keeps me awake at night a lot too. I'm really scared and it's making me go insane.

I have the same thing. I was tapered off 25mg Valium very quickly. For me the burning is 24/7 also.

I have been referred to lots of doctors, had Cat scans, MRIs, lots of blood work and none of them have any answers. I now believe this is from the Valium and possibly tapering very quickly by my GP. They just have no idea... But you are not alone. It has been 12 months for me. Functioning like this is difficult. From reading and learning from other people on here the only answer is time, just have to give it lots of time.

Hi AnnSki,

It really does seem like time is the true answer. But god, I dunno how we just wait out time like this in pure, physical agony. I have also had an MRI and a nerve conduction test done. All of the test results came back normal. I have also had blood tests done and most came back normal except one showed I am pre-diabetic and the other showed that I have a little bit of high ESR value (which means I have some inflammation in the blood). This ESR value is giving me a LOT of health anxiety. At least I am not alone with this symptom... thanks for validating.

Quit sugar and hi GI carbs now. It will help you in BW and may save your life in the long term. I am watching my day suffer from diabetes and heart disease now and it's heart wrenching. He already lost one leg and the other is going soon. His kidneys are shot. Compared to his agony BW is nothing. Dont want to scare you, or maybe I do. If you are pre diabetic you still have a chance to reverse it. For inflammation, the cut in sugar and carbs will make a huge difference. Also you can take turmeric tablets daily. Don't worry about your health, DO something about it. Now.

I think you are right about sugar and carbs.  Those are the easy things to eat when you don't feel well.  I am going to try to approach this thing with diet.  Thanks for the insight/warning!

Anski,  that is a very good idea. My post was actually meant for anongrl and I hope she reads it. But this is good honest advice for anyone. Good luck.

I'm so sorry to see you still dealing with this burning. I have it too but not all over in my body only in my head and scalp, 24/7. I can't even imagine how bad is for you to feel burning all over. Even my head and scalp burning driving me crazy. So sorry for your suffering.

I'm off all the sugar and gluten and very low carb. Maybe what the other fellow BB said is a very good suggestion. Did not make a huge difference with me but is always very healthy to have low sugar and carb. You can try the gluten free diet for a wile too or try to do some allergy test.

Love and healing

Vica

I am now 24 months off Klonopin after 20 years of use and wd has been brutal. Burning all over/heat/burning pins and needles have been the hallmark of my wd. In the last couple of months, I've noticed a marked decrease in burning intensity. I have a few days when it is very low and I go about my activities barely thinking about it. Today I've had a bad burn for first time in 5 days. So I send this as Hope to everyone who has this awful symptom. Things do get better.
