Reasonable taper schedule for Valium?

Hey!

Sorry, I still haven't updated my signature, but I'm currently on 6,5mg Valium and 4,5mg Valdoxan. I have reduced 5% (of the previous dose) every two weeks so far. At this rate it will take me 2+ years to get off Valium and probably another two years to completely heal. Basically, the taper will take a lot more time than I spent on the drug.

I thought about reducing 2x10% a month, but I've been told that it's too rapid. Any experiences? I know slow and steady is the best, but I'm afraid of the damage that the benzo will cause to my nervous system during the taper. I'm not planning to go CT by any means or rush through my taper. Just asking people to share their experiences with tapering Valium. :)

I'm also a member of BenzoBuddies, but it seems that the people over there taper quite rapidly. I don't want to suffer for a year, only to screw up my nervous system. People tapering off Valium, what's your so-called golden schedule that still keeps you functional?
