Hi, I am 3 weeks in to withdrawing from clonazepam, which i have been on in the US for close to 10 yrs, along with an SSRI and Lunesta. I move to UK to be with my parents and cuz i was muserable alone, having divorcd 4 yrs before, nit realizing my thought processes were all skewed by the drugs..Doc here came to the house as I was catatonic, put me on a taper of diazepam which i am now done with, but i cant sleep, even with the Trazodone they gave me and can barely function, feel like i wanna die..theres help but its very disorganized and my mum fell and went in a home, so its just me and my 86 yr old dad, which is really hard..im furious my US doc never warned me about this, just uped my dose every time i had a crisis..im sick of being Eeyore, i want my Tigger self back

Hello, Limeyadd- Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

Congratulations on your progress so far.  The symptoms you describe are very typical for benzo and other psychotropic drug withdrawal.

I'm  glad you decided to join the forum - you'll find plenty of information and support here. Our members have gone through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, so you'll be able to connect with others who understand what you're going through and can tell you what has worked for them.

I also went through benzo withdrawal and have been benzo free so I understand some of the issues you are facing.  I find this community to be very supportive.

Please feel free to post to any of the specialized boards, which can all be accessed from the BenzoBuddies Community Forum homepage. Based on the information provided in your introduction, the following links may be a good starting place for you:

If you have not already done so, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.

Please take the time to Create a Signature. This will allow members to see where you are in the process, so that they can better support you.

Again, welcome!
