I suffer from problems after a chiropractor mashed me.. also from long term use of antipsychotics.. I clench my jaw and my head is tilting backwards.. so there is something wrong with my neck.. I was on 2,0 mg of klonopin at the most.. used half a year to taper.. looked like I had cerebral palsy.. that's one year ago.. but then stupid as I was I reinstated and took 2 mg of valium.. I quit that 15. may.. now I'm really stiff and can't move properly..

Hello theowl,

Welcome to Benzo Buddies!  I'm so sorry you have suffered long term effects from chiropractic adjustment.  Additionally, antipsychotics are known for causing movement disorders.  I'm supposing that you stopped taking the 2mg of valium cold turkey, is that right?

One thing to remember is that benzos are very efficient muscle relaxers so when they are removed the muscles have to learn how to relax naturally. Sometimes this can take a while.  Muscle  and nerve issues were my longest lasting symptoms.

Have you seen a doctor about your neck and head issues? It's always a good idea to get a check up just to make sure there are not other contributing factors.

You'll receive a lot of good support here as you recover from the use of benzos. Many of our members have been on other medications such as antipsychotics so you will find people you can relate to.

I'll give you a link to the Post Withdrawal Recovery Board where you can post and receive feedback from members.

I'll also give you a link to the Ashton Manual. While it discusses tapering in detail, you'll also find good information about these types of drugs and the withdrawal process in general. The manual was written by Dr. Heather Ashton, an expert in the field.

Please do ask questions, we're here to help.
