Since my last cut, I have been extremely depressed, extremely scared to be alone. I'm scared. Darkness is scary. I'm scared of myself and my thoughts. I just can't be alone especially at night or I'll have a big panic attack. Please tell me I'm not the only one suffering with this. :'(

Hi Snowflake;

I also was using 1.5 - 2mg of Klonopin per day for about 10 years (after Xanax).

Keep reminding yourself that you are in control of a taper, and are getting closer to being healed with

every passing day.

  My depression eased up as soon as I began my taper, largely I'm certain because I finally felt like

I was in control and on the road to being healed. I had gone into tolerance withdrawal, and was having terrible symptoms

before I even started tapering.

  Do whatever you have to do to get comfortable; put a small light on, put the radio on with classical music or talk radio, but low volume so you can sleep. Do you have a cat or dog or pet ? They are great company for hard times like these.

Also keep reminding yourself that the depression and dark thoghts are just symptoms of tapering, and

only temporary. The human brain is 'neuro-plastic', meaning, it has the ability to heal itself and reset over time.

You have to do your part with healthy food and as much sleep as possible, of course.

No, you certainly are not alone, ever.

Good luck,

-Justaman

Thank you.  I can't sleep because of the dark depression and anxiety.
