Jump off point?

Recommended Posts

I am on 1.5 ml (1/5 mg) of diazepam a day. It has taken me almost a year to microtaper 1 mg from 2.45 to 1.5. When did you jump off? Is it feasible to jump at 1 mg or .5 mg?

Thanks!

If it took you a year go drop 1 mg, I would not recommend jumping at 1.0 or 0.5.  Maybe at 0.05.  You've got to do this at a rate that you can handle, else you might very well end up needing to up-dose or reinstate which might cause kindling issues.

I do feel like my symptoms are better now that I am at 1.5 mg. 2 mg was rough!!!

Different people hit 'walls' at different points in their taper.  Sometimes, once you're through a really tough cut, all of the rest get a little easier.  Let's hope that's the situation with you.
