Un-doing too large of a cut - Famous stabilization question

[Mi...]

I tapered Tranxene/Valium (same thing pretty much) too quickly.  Been trying to figure out what dose I actually need to take to stabilize.  It's been 4 days since I updosed and tried to guess what amount I was actually stable at the start of taper.  I take 40mg omeprazole and kept poor calendar records before 20 days ago....between those two things I have no clue what my blood levels should actually be at since omeprazole can increase benzo blood levels and cause you to clear the benzo up to 50% slower.  We could be talking about a 200-300 hour half life with that factor.

I think 3/4's of a 3.75 pill is where I should be at, but still dealing with a lot of head pressure, intradose morning tremors, and morning muscle panic, which wasn't happening at all since I started this.  I was only taking it at night and I was 100% fine for 24 hours each time.  The burning mouth went away, the tinnitus is much better, as well as a couple other issues, so I know I must be close to being stable.  I'm not asking you to put this puzzle together, my actual question is this.  Once you go back to the dose you were last stable on, how long does it take to actually feel stable again?  I don't want to exceed the dose I actually need to be on due to impatience with waiting for SX to back off.

I made two cuts in 12 days and felt completely normal, then the long half-life caught up with things and slammed me hard this past Sunday, about 5 days into the second cut.  (both cuts equaled a 75% total reduction....duh!)    Since I tried benzos again after being clean 3.5 years, I have been on 3 different brands in the past 2.5 months, never taking more than the equivalent of ~5mg of valium.  They way it sounds, I should be in a pretty good shape this time around compared to my CT of 1.5mg of xanax after 1 year of using.

So you're still trying to stabilize after going back to .5 klonopin?  Any plans to switch to Valium, or are you going to break out the chemistry set and stick with what you have?  Feel free to hijack this thread, sounds like we're in the same boat.

I was cut from 10mg Valium to 5 mg. Read my profile for full details. But the tinnitus ( ear ringing the last 7 days ) has been my greatest concern also. However I was about 6 days in when it really began and has remained. I have all the symptoms you listed and then some. I read the Ashton Manual then fully reread again before I decided whether to up my dose. The Ashton Manual refers to this as " kindling " and states it most likely will make further dose reductions more difficult. So I myself decided not to for that reason alone. I still fear that the tinnitus my last months years or be permanent even. But all I've read it's too late to up a dose now it would only make things harder later and not serve to cure or lessen the tinnitus. I'm very hopeful I'm wrong about this. So please feel free to correct or link me to anything that may correct me here if I am.

Hopefully you've read on the varying degrees of half live of Valium and that it is individual for everyone. If not I'd be happy to explain in simple terms but for detailed information I would refer you again to the Ashton Manual. You can simply do a search for that then if you have questions many of us here could help explain it as it applies to you.
