Head pressure 12-18months off group

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow BB!

I'm 13 months  off benzo and I'm still suffering with severe head pressure and head squeezes, burning, scalp is extremely sensitive, anxiety and very bad neck pain and muscle spasm in my neck and scalp.

Have other symptoms too, but they are  the worst one for me by far. I have it 24/7. Nights are  better mornings are so so and evening are bad most of the time.

I never had a window, but I have to say some day I feel the severity of my pain is 20% better. But is every day struggling to stay a life and be positive.

I would like to hear from other fellow BB who has somewhat similar symptoms and maybe we can encourage each other here.

Love and healing to everybody

Vica

I have those symptoms as well. I'm only about 4 months out and it is very disheartening. Sorry I can't offer you any advice or success story but you're not alone and I wish you healing soon and I know you've been dealing with this longer so it's hard. Best wishes.

Hi Vica,

I am sorry you are still suffering so bad. I know you have suffered with he head pressure for a while. Just continue to try distract and find ways to help with it. Also acceptance helps with everything.  I know it's easy said than done but we have to tried and hold on. I am currently in a wave but I am trying to accept as best as I can. We just have to hold on even one second at a time because each day passing we are closer to healing. Recovery is our future. Benzo was our past. Hang in there.

Hi 76mom, so sorry to see you still dealing with this terrible headache. Hopefully is not going to last long for you like me.

Do you get it all the time? Can you sleep with the pain? Is it getting worst for you by afternoon?

Love and healing

Hi Vica,

It has been a while since I heard from you ! I am sorry you still have to deal with that symptom. This one makes it pretty difficult to fall asleep...

Head pressure has left me I would say two months ago.  I am still mainly dealing with depression, fatigue and electricity/tingling/buzzing/crawling sensation on my arms, hands, legs and feet.

I am sure you are almost at the end of the road with this one ! :)

Hi Tracy, I'm sorry you currently in wave.  :(Thank you for writing back to me.  It is so hard to stay positive when you have a severe pain. I'm trying so hard and sometimes I can, but sometimes my benzo mind is just takes over and telling me I never going to heal. I see people suffering with this head pain 4-5 years out and is makes me so scared.... I will be one of them later. Hopefully not.

Hope you will get some nice window soon.

Love and healing

Vica

Hi edou, thank you for writing me back and giving me a huuuge hope. :smitten:

Your head pressure went away 2 months ago?? That's great new. I'm so happy for you! Is it was slowly getting less and less or one day just disappeared? Can you sleep with your remaining symptoms?

I'm trying not to come here to often bc is make my anxiety worst. But I love to come here too, bc I feel people understand me here and I'm getting a biggest support here. ( My husband is wonderful too. He tells,me all the time I will heal )

Thank you again for giving me a hope and wishing you a continue healing with your remaining symptoms.

Love and healing

Hey Vica!

I have the exact same symptoms that you listed during a wave. When I have a window they get milder.

Take yesterday for example, I had a rough morning start, but I knew it was a window day. I slept well, I woke up with less neck, back and head pain. I also had significantly less cog fog. My  depression hung out for about an hour and then lifted. I was laughing, enjoying work, played beach volleyball at night. I truly felt amazing. Mild nerve pain was the only symptoms i had toward the later part of the day.

And here I am today, in a nasty wave. Depression is present, back and neck pain is back. Also I have a horrible headache between my eyes that gives me the worst cog fog. Oh and the back of my neck is burning. It feels awesome!!  The good part is that my anxiety is literally gone. I'm stuck with depression now.

Moral of the story, I'm 18 months out and definitely improving. I was hoping to be healed by two years off, but who knows. If it takes me 3 years, so be it. I'm not going back!! After feeling on top of the world yesterday, I know my future is bright. And the same goes for you guys!! Hang in there!!.  :smitten:

Dear vica,

It lessened to some extent to finally just disappear.  It is funny how a symptom can just go away like that.  My sleep is better.  I have to say I take progesterone at night (prometrium 100mg) which help induce sleep.  I am now in menaupose.

Everything has improved except for the tingling/electricity symptoms and the general state of pain and fatigue which remains.  I am afraid I am now with Fibromyalgia.  Only futur will tell !

Hi Vica,

So sorry to hear you're still having this symptom :( I still get the feeling of my brain burning, squeezing, moving, and also shaking/shivering when I'm in a very bad wave. Sometimes the base of my neck and head will also squeeze and it's like someone is crushing my brain with a helmet! Do you also feel your brain shivering too?

I am praying for you. I hope you see more improvement as you keep pushing forward.

Hi Edou im happy for you everything is improving!

My porjesterone was very low too and after I stoped benzo doctor put me on bio identical hormon cream. I did not feel good on it and came off, went trough hell again after 6 months stoping benzo the porjesterone cream was just us hard to come off. I learned later is acting on a same reseptors like benzo. Just be carful when you want to come off. Do it very gradually. I'm 56 years old and going trough peri menapouse too. My hormones are all over, and this benzo withrawl and coming off remeron not helping for my CN. Trying to survive every day.

Sending lots of love and healing

  • 4 weeks later...
Hi Everyone! I just found this group as I was scrolling through the support groups. These are my symptoms exactly at 11 months off. I have a few others like racing heart, fatigue and odd numbness and tingling but by far my worst symptoms are head pressure and dizziness. Not the spinning kind, just feeling floaty and off balance. Sometimes my ears feel plugged with pressure too.  I've been pretty functional but sometimes this loopy head is just so discouraging. I'm thinking it should be better by now ?
