I'm so bitter

I’ve shared before about how when I was at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston I was forced to taper off of 6MGs of Klonopin in only twelve days. I’m trying not to be but I am so bitter. I kept telling everyone that would listen that they were going too fast. I kept asking them to please stop. I told the doctor that my legs were going numb. I faxed him a copy of Bill H.4062 the other day. He gets very upset if he’s contradicted so I have sent him faxes about PAWS and safe taper plans. The same with the head of his department. I have talked to lawyers about bring action against him. I have filed complaints with a number of medical review boards. The reply has been that what he did was “under the scope of safe medical practice.” Assholes! The Peripheral Neuropathy and Paresthesia keeps getting worse. The tinnitus is horrible. The Paresthesia is so bad I can’t let my head rest against the back of my recliner. The numbness below my knees has spread up my legs and down my arms. I have to live like this and he gets off scott free. Even my neurologist said I was tapered off too fast. I’m so bitter…

Oh, and the idiot knew that I was just going to go back on it just as soon as I got out. It made no sense to put me through that. I had a letter saying that I was on a monitored taper plan already.

That sounds incredibly dangerous- I'm sorry that happened to you.  I certainly understand anger towards prescribers.  Sometimes I think that if I die, it wouldn't be the worst thing because at least maybe the idiot who put me on this medication would be held accountable (probably not).  I'm sorry that I'm not familiar with your story but have you been able to resume your taper?

I re-started about 5 days ago. I had the quietest tinnitus night last night. Woke up during the night to almost complete silence. The tinnitus is not too bad right now. No more holds for me. No matter what comes. I'm convince that I'm not to get better until I get this shit completely out of my body.

I get so appalled that that doctor would do that to me. He was an angry little prick. If he's the best that Beth Israel Deaconess has to serve up it doesn't say much about them.

Sometimes I think about doing the worst to end all this. That's when I tell myself to not give up the day before the miracle.

I hope he dies choking on his own blood.

Glad you re-started your dose. Please wean very slow when you and only you decide you're ready.

Find a doctor to help you liquid titrate from a compound pharmacy and go slow. Praying for you and blessings

An over rapid taper can turn a life from sugar to shit very rapidly and last for an extended period of time. I hope there's a special place in hell for doctors that do that to people.

It's beyond terrible what happened.  I'm not sure how quickly you can get over the bitterness - for me it would be next to impossible.  Anyway, please try to stay positive.  I am glad you will re-try a slow taper and do what's best for you.  I assume you have a different doctor now(?).  Hopefully you can find one to better fit your needs.  Visit us often and let us know of your progress.  Take care.

Actually this arrogant little turd wasn't my doctor at all. I got stuck with him for 14 days. I wish everyone could meet this snotty little weasel of a prick.

He even looks like an asshole. If he was twice as smart he would still be stupid.

I have three great doctors now. The doctor that prescribes my Klonopin, my neurologist and my primary care doctor. They ALL say that I was tapered off the Klonopin too rapidly.

I was only supposed to be at Beth Israel for 72 hours. The ONLY plausible explanation that I can think of was that they forced me to stay for 14 days was for the insurance money. Nothing else makes sense. The little fungus knew that my doctor would put me back on Klonopin as soon as I was released. Then again, he's not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.

If you're ever being taken to Beth Israel slip the ambulance driver a few bucks and have him take you over to Mass General.

erniej,

Most of us are suffering because of poorly educated MD's. They just don't care and don't care to learn.

I hope we can lift this weight from our shoulders. It's a lot to carry around. Blessings to all of us as we heal.

Oh that is just terrible.  Awful.  I'm so glad you are out of there and have good doctors and resumed your taper.
