Any worda of wisdom and advice would be greatly appreciated id like to thank everyone on here because you all have made it much easier giving me hope that this will end one day. I cannot stress how much motivation its given me to never touch a benzo or any psych med again no matter how many refills my psychiatrist gives me.

Hi Eddie.

Body pains, bladder pain and stomach issues are quite common and sadly can be part of the withdrawal process. Look on-line for the 'Ashton Manual' on benzo withdrawal and you will find a huge list of the sometimes bizarre symptoms that happen. The manual is the definitive  guide to recovery.

Good luck.

Thank you I will definitely look at that. Its just soo crazy how benzos affect every part of the body. Its soo nerve wrecking that the wds are so bad.

My sister is still in the process of getting off Ativan, but early on in the taper, she had bladder issues during the afternoon hours (sometimes it seemed like she had to go every 5 minutes--it was kind of crazy), but it eventually went away after a couple of months

As for body pain, she didn't have any issues with pain for the first six months of the taper, but now body pain is becoming a major issue for her.  She's very achy around her neck and shoulders and her hips and back, which makes it very difficult for her to sit and lie down. She also gets pain in the abdominal area and her ribs.  So far, we haven't found anything to help with the pain.

Yes, I have bladder issues when coming off benzos. In addition to going all the time, I also have pain in my bladder and what I feel like are my kidney area. It's not SEVERE pain - just enough to let me know they're there. Almost like my whole body is responding to some sort of inflammation, or something. (that's the best way I can describe it...)

No actual bacteria or infection ever really show up, although it will show cloudy urine, which my doctor has said in the past, could be "inflammation"... (?)

I wake up just about every hour. I used to think it was insomnia but since I get up to urinate each time it might be more of a bladder issue. It's never been a problem before.

Whoa I can relate to the frequent urination.  It's causing me to get up 4-5 times a night which really impacts my insomnia.  My test came back showing no UTI.  I feel like it's the excitability of the CNS causing it because when I get up I don't have to go much.  So it's not like the bladder is full.  I was starting to see a little improvement until my doctor put me on Cipro now it's back to what it was in acute.

Many people find that the bladder irritation starts to get less bothersome after jumping and acute are over.  My bladder issues first appeared on a 13 hour plane ride. I was in tolerance withdrawal and didn't know it. Peeing every half hour. Thankfully I had an aisle seat but plane toilets are horrible. You could try an over the counter bladder soother med. It helps a bit,
