I have read that regular caffeine consumption, approximately 100 MG daily ,upregulates GABA ! Anyone find that to help?

Yep.  I saw an article along those lines although it was done with rats or mice.  I drank a cup of coffee in the morning during my withdrawal.  It helped with the brain fog a bit (and it tasted warm and wonderful).  Probably made me shake a bit more and maybe more palps, but it was worth it to have a little normalcy in my life.

They're certainly different compounds, but both can rev up your symptoms during withdrawal.  A fair number of people find that they need to control their caffeine and sugar intake.  Amounts that you were able to handle easily in the past can cause problems during withdrawal.  I think that the major complaints are increased shaking, increased sweating and increased heart palps (there could be more).  A lot of people stop caffeine and added sugar altogether.  I continued to have a cup of coffee in the morning, but reduced sugary foods somewhat.

I never drink coffee because it has the opposite effect on me. Makes me sleepy and sometimes gives me heart palpitations. After reading this post at lunch today I went and got a cup of coffee. Within minutes my mood greatly improved. The depression lifted. Maybe it was a coincidence. Either way I'll be adding a cup of coffee to my morning routine for the foreseeable future. Thanks for the info.
