Since I want to stay anonymous but let u know this isn't a spammed I've been dealing with benzos since 12 years ago when just was put on klonopin for twitches and I was obvious to its addiction potential, I got off through in patient but now I'm trying to taper off clonazolam which is a non fda approved but legal benzo much stronger then xanax with a much longer half life I get it in 30ml liqiud solutions and the withdrawal is like no other benzo I've experienced so I just own I prob need a slow taper since it's half life is 12-14 hrs but I was on etizolam prior which has shorter half life but much less withdrawal side effects so I'm wondering if I should wean from my 2-3mg a day of clonazolam down to less then a milligram then switch to the etizolam wean down to the lowest dosage but is there suppliments that can help as I'm seizure prone now from past abuse.  Like taking GABA or kava kava any advice is appreciated this isn't my first rodeo I don't want to tell anymore about ,yself then imy in my 30's and I'm also tapering off buprenorphine aka suboxone but that won't possibly kill me if I taper wrong. I know ppl who get whacked off 2 droplets of what I take but I take 1ml total half in the am and half before bed. I'm scared I went thru the worst withdrawal the other  night I was having diarrea and vomiting at the same time while shaking soaked in sweat and it was almost unbearable but I won't let it beat me this time or ever again. So any tips help are greatly appreciated. Thank

Hello Clonazohell215,

Welcome to Benzo Buddies!  You've come to the right place for information and support as you taper off benzos. I don't have experience or knowledge with clonazolam but hopefully others will weigh in and give you some good advice. If you have had seizures in the past due to your benzo use you will want to implement a very slow taper.  Since you have a long history with these drugs, it may take a while to feel better but the good thing is that you seem dedicated to being off benzos permanently.

A slow taper can help to minimize withdrawal effects. Generally a reduction of no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days is suggested. I'll give you a link to the General Taper Plans for additional information.

I'll also give you a link to the Ashton Manual. It is an excellent resource about these types of drugs and how to withdraw. It was written by Dr. Heather Ashton, an expert in the field.

Supplements are very hit or miss. Some people might find some help with their withdrawal symptoms and other find it actually increases the severity of symptoms. Everyone is different and will react differently. Overall, time is the real healer in terms of benzo withdrawal. You central nervous system needs time to recover and find balance again.

Please do ask questions, we're here to help.
