can anyone help?  took ativan for post stroke anxiety, i think this is the go-to medication for this condition, and after about 3.5 months of daily 1/2 of .50 dose, i decided to come off the medication and deal with the stroke residual without meds...CANNOT GET OFF...now down to a crumb, maybe 1/16 of the dose...does anyone know how much filler is in these pills so i can more accurately calculate my intake...the dr. says what i am taking is ok to take, but i should know that i am not getting any theraputic value?  anyone?

Hi  so tired  Welcome to Benzobuddies

I am sorry things have been so tough for you, I hope you are slowly recovering from your stroke.  If you have been on benzo’s more than few weeks, they need tapering off slowly. Tapering slow can help to minimize withdrawal effects.  It is generally recommended to taper no more than 5-10% every 10-14 days.

I found the lower doses extremely difficult, I was on Valium.  I will leave a link to an Ativan support group, I am sure you will get help and advice there

Ativan Tapering Thread

We have a great community here of knowledgeable and friendly people who understand this process.  They will be willing to share their experience with you.  Feel free to ask questions so that members can respond

The Ashton Manual is an excellent resource for information about these medications and gives a lot of information about withdrawal/tapering.

If you would be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice this link will show you how to”Create a signature”

Welcome aboard
