A little bit of my story...

Since I was 13 I have battled off and on with drug addiction. It started with alcohol and cocaine... I became depressed and went to see a psychologist who at first prescribed me Prozac... I became even worse and was having trouble with having anxiety attacks at school... he prescribed me Ativan and told me it should help... That opened the gates for me... I started using them so much that after a week I wouldn't have anymore and so my friend introduced me to Xanax. That became the apple off my eye, I loved it. I would trade 10 Ativan for one bar. I started mixing it with alcohol and I became a different person... I laid it all down for a while after my school forced me to go into a drug program my senior year or they were going to kick me out... I did good for about six months and then I started up right where I left off... I'm 22 and I just got out of rehab and have since relapsed. I'm tired of fighting this demon, I want out of this cycle. I want to love myself and feel happy for the first time in almost 10 years.

Hi Kenny.

Wanting to be free is the biggest hurdle.  It sounds like you're there and I'm glad you're looking for support to help get through the withdrawal and healing process.

Here are a couple of places to begin posting to the boards:

General Taper Plans

Withdrawal Support

When you have a chance, I highly recommend that you take a look at The Ashton Manual, which is an authoritative source on what to expect during withdrawal and recovery, authored by Dr. C. Heather Ashton, who is an expert in the field. It provides a great deal of information that can be very reassuring during any stage of this process, including a list of common symptoms with helpful explanations on the reasons for their existence.

Please take some time to Create a Signature. This will help other members understand your history so they will be better able to support you.

Go to the top of the page and select Profile, then choose Forum Profile, insert drug history/timelines into the text box and click Change Profile.

Take care...we're here to help as much as we're able.
