Short term Valium usage, risk of withdrawals?

Hello BB users, found this forum as I'm a little worried my doctor doesn't know what hes doing.

So heres my history.

12/23/2016 Started GBL abuse, daily usage for 4ish months around 800ml consumed.

05/05/2017 CT the GBL.

05/06/2017 Was put on Chlordiazepoxid 25mg 2x a day for w/d's at hospital.

05/08/2017 Went to local doctor and got 5mg Valium 4x a day and Chlordiazepoxid was removed.

05/11/2017 3x 5mg Valium per day (pretty much w/d free of GBL now)

05/14/2017 2x 5mg Valium per day.

Will be put down to one 5mg Valium in two days. Doctor tells me to stop me cold turkey the 05/22/2017, and i'll be withdrawals free (not so sure about that tho).

Will this bring me bad withdrawals? Its quite a short time but these devils of pills are addicting, and i really don't wanna taper 10% every two weeks its kinda scaring me. Hope some people here can help calm me a bit down.

Thanks!

I would follow the doc's recommendation.  I doubt you will have any WD sxs, and if you do, they will be short-lived.

I did a fast taper (5 days) after 3 weeks on V.  I had a some significant sxs for about 4 hoursand then OK.

Thanks for the answer man! Calmed me down a bit, heard/read benzo withdrawals can be some nasty stuff.

And good job staying off the benzos! :-)

I agree that in this case a fast taper is the way to go. Sorry to sound like your mother, but- please try to avoid all these drugs for the rest of your life. I found each time I went back on benzos (as instructed by my doctor) the subsequent taper was harder. Consider yourself lucky if you get out of this with minimal withdrawal, then remember that its not worth the risk.

Thanks for caring. What does a fast taper include? And yeah thats the same with many drugs, withdrawals gets harder everytime you go through them :-/

Thanks!

I consider your doctor's proposal to be a fast taper.

Oh okay nice. Don't wanna try these benzo withdrawals.

Thanks for calming me down everyone! :-)
