Hi,

I've posted a few times in the past and most times get zero or 1 response - which is fine but today I'm asking for some help - I really need some feedback.  It's taken me a week to get myself to write this post.

As you can see, I did a very slow withdrawal.  When I jumped I felt pretty good and it just got better from there.  Besides a few brief bumps I felt better than I had in years.  I felt like myself, finally.  Now 15 months since jumping I got the extreme muscle tightness from my shoulder to neck,  strange sensations on my legs - creepy crawly feeling and moderate burning feeling (no weakness).  I've felt oddly lightheaded at times but not too intense.  My fear is that this is now something else like MS.  (I was tested for this before I realized Valium was the culprit and was told it was not MS.)  If it continues another week I'm going to go in and be re-evaluated.

My question is, is it really possible this could still be from withdrawal?  Even though I would like it to be true, I can't seem to believe that it could be but I hope it is?  Does this sound possible to anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Grateful17

It COULD just be a reaction to anxiety or stress. Sounds like you are getting it checked out, so that's good. Have you done anything different recently (drinking alcohol or anything?)

Hi Grateful

Amazing you got of and stayed off for 15 months.

Yes it absolutley could be withdrawal. I've had an have very similar symptoms/experiences and go through a similar thought process too. If you read around you would probably read similar posts.

If you decide to get re-evaluated and then puts your mind at ease then great do that but it's really common to withdrawal what you're describing.

Great you managed to type the post out. The fear can be gripping and paralysing so good on you

Have you been drinking alcohol, taking any medications, or using any supplements? Common offenders are gabaergic supplements, antibiotics, antidepressants, and steroids/creams/sprays.

Firstly, thank you for the responses!! So grateful!

I have not done anything differently - no medications, no alcohol, no new supplements - everything is the same.

It is comforting to hear that this COULD be withdrawal - I hope and pray it is and just goes away!

Thank you!

Your cut history includes two ct's then 38pct then 20pct twice.

This might by why you have continuing trouble.

The metallic taste and acrid smell could be sinus.

I assume you had proper medical workups.

These Benzos are a very strange animal! No doubt your very slow taper made your experience a little easier than most who as myself took a faster taper approach. I've had periods of feeling very good only to be hit with something completely out of the blue. We simply don't know the damage to our neurons or how they will heal. I tell myself and others, "give it time and be patient".

It could be something with health that is why you should go to doctor and take a blod job done answer some basical tests.Iron and vitamin D can do such a symptoms. If it is notthing in that direction than you know it is stress and then try to calm your self down and mare yourself busy to not think about symptoms.

Hi, I found that at 15 months I suffered with the worst of muscle tightness aches and nerve pain than I did earlier , in fact I didn't have this until past 14 months and the anxiety that comes from it ...the strange creepy electric feelings in the legs at the lower leg are terrible and hardly let up and I didn't have this symptom earlier in withdrawal either ...I'm two years out now..what I have realised is ...when I was on these a few years ago I had all these sensations and at one point I had to crawl up the stairs ..it was so painful ...the buzzing feeling I had in my legs to but it all went away after two months .... that was around 9/10 years ago...I have it again now so it is withdrawal ...we will hopefully be better soon...Tass x

Thanks for the replies! I really appreciate them!  They have calmed my nerves, let me take a deep breath and readjusted my thinking.  It helps so much when I hear from others with the same experiences.

I hope this latest issue fades away but if it doesn't I will get it checked out.

Thanks & I wish you all well!
