I feel so off mentally every day....my brain just feels so odd...then I have high fears...I've had this from the beginning of the medication and see no end in sight..I pray that at some point, this is reversible...I just don't understand..

Think of it as a brain injury, not as permanent brain damage. Like any injury, it takes time to heal. But you will heal. I did, and many others have (read the success stories).

I'm sorry your *&!@ doctors put you through this. Obviously you never should have been prescribed the Klonopin in the first place. Then, you should have been told to do a proper taper. And, you shouldn't have been given all those other psych meds which as you discovered do not help with benzo withdrawal.

At this point it seems like your best bet is to let time heal. You are still in benzo withdrawal, and all your symptoms are typical of benzo withdrawal. Healthy living and patience are what it takes to heal. You will get there. Let me know if I can help. All the best,

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm so afraid I won't make it through; I'm a single-parent of a 14 year old son and am terrified I won't be here for him. I struggle minute to minute just hanging on...Yes, I can't believe doctors can get away with this and he knew...he said confidently "I can get you off this"....

Nope, we have not permanently damaged our brains. I really believed I had until I went to a neurologist who thankfully knew exactly how benzos work and all the trouble they can be. He assured me this would get better.

I try to look at all my symptoms as my nervous system resetting itself. Keep telling yourself these things are all necessary for healing and you are healing.

Thank you donna....I guess I'm having a really hard day today; can't seem to relax at all...just spend my days trying to calm myself...and I'm failing miserably.
