Hi . My math is horrible and I need help figuring out my % drop. Example if I went from 1.75 mg down to 1.68mg what math formula would I use to get the % drop. Thanks for help in advance.

1.75 mg multiplied by .04    (4 percent )      equals .07

Subtract  .07 from 1.75 mg and that gives you 1.68mg which is a 4 percent cut

Or

1.75 x .96 = 1.68.        .96 means 96 percent of 1.75

Hi Chris. I understand 1.75 minus 1.68 equals .07. But how did you figure out the 4%?. Sorry but I don't see what formula you used. I'm not seeing it.

If you want an 8 percent cut for example then use .08

A 10 percent drop you would use  .10 and so on.

Hope that helps. Maybe someone else can explain differently or has an easier way

Thanks Chris. I follow everything you show. I still don't see how you got to 4%. It's correct but how? I hope someone can walk me through this.

To calculate the percentage increase, work out the difference between the two numbers you are comparing. Then divide the increase by the original number and multiply the answer by 100. If your answer is a negative number, then this is a percentage decrease.

Maybe this is what you are looking for

1.75/ 1.68 = 96%  100%-96% = 4 %

1.75 x .04 =.07 and 1.75-.07= 1.68
