I don't know if it's masochism or just eating my feelings, but I just can't stop eating sugar, gluten, dairy, out at restaurants ect. Even though I get a  negative reaction. I think it's partly trying to find some pleasure in life. Am I the only person who can't stick to a strict diet.

At least no alcohol and very little caffeine so far.

I feel out of control too. Can't stop buying and eating Rice Krispies, ice cream sandwiches, potato chips, wine, beer. These things are all I have for excitement and reward. Want to go Paleo. Am I masochistic? Feel guilty.

I got it too, but controlling it. It's the comfort food effect

I understand the feeling.  With everything I've been through the last few years, eating was about the only thing I could enjoy (besides sleeping).  I am trying to clean up my diet (and am doing good most of the time), but sugars and dairy are certainly tempting.

I can relate. I've been killing my stomach for the past few months with sugar and dairy, both of which I can't really tolerate. When I feel so awful on a consistent basis it's so hard to resist the draw of comfort foods and I often just want to be able to enjoy something. I'm trying to get back on track. Progress not perfection!

Isn't it awful??  It's like I have the bad munchies or something.  I love sugar, chocolate, chips, popcorn, ice cream..if it's not healthy, in the mouth it goes! I've also been on seroquel since going through this, which increases appetite....thank goodness I am tapering off that med....starting to feel like I can have some amount of self-control over my eating...finding pleasure in other things rather than just food now that I am six months out. Sorry, I wasn't too encouraging!

I tried a strict diet for about two weeks the first month off.. I didn't notice any changes, but it was also acute. I get crazy stomach every now and then, I don't watch what I eat much. My eating habits are awful. I either don't eat all day or I eat sh***y food late at night. I sometimes wonder if I'd be a hundred times better now at eleven months off if I DID eat healthier.. :P
