I was happy to find this forum because I have just finished a taper off both Klonopin and Zoloft. I thought I had done a gradual taper off the Klonopin but now realize I might have come off too fast.  At any rate I am done with both of them. My last dose was a week ago and was 0.25. I took Klonopin for 6 years. I am still having many symptoms. Mostly tinnitus and severe numbness and tingling in my extremities. I stopped the Zoloft 25mg suddenly last week because I read that it might be worsening my RLS symptoms. I took that mainly for anxiety and mild depression.  I feel oddly calm and happy with myself for doing this inspite of my withdrawal symptoms. I welcome any advise and encouragement you can give me.  I am determined to be drug-free except for 0.25mg of ReQuip for my RLS which I take at 4:30 in the afternoon. I have slept well for the past 4 nights, without RLS, and am grateful for that.

Hi luv2sew   Welcome to benzobuddies

Congratulations for being benzo free,  well done to you.  You say you did a fast taper off,  You are just a week out, there’s a two week window where you could consider reinstating and doing a slower taper.

Reinstatement does not always work but it's important that you are aware it's an option.  If you choose to tough it out, the withdrawal symptoms will go eventually but they will take time.

We have many supportive and kind members here who will support you and give sound advice. Feel free to check out the forum and post to any of our dedicated threads.

I'll give you a couple of links . The Ashton Manual, is an excellent resource about these types of drugs and how to withdraw. It was written by an expert in the field.

I will leave a link here : Professor Ashtons Manual

Here is a link to our Post withdrawal recovery support.

If you would be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice this link will show you how to  ”Create a signature”

Welcome aboard

Thank you, Magrita. I am so happy to have found this group. I decided to do a reinstatement of the Klonopin but I took just .125mg this am. I will try that twice a day until I am feeling better. I never took K during the day, just at bedtime for sleep and RLS. I had such a terrible headache all day yesterday, I decided to be kind to myself and take the half dose when I woke up. In my introduction I forgot to mention that I did not taper the Zoloft 25mg of 2 years. I did a c/ t on the Zoloft just 3 days after jumping off K at .25 every other day. after further reading on this page as well as the antidepressant group, I realize this was a big mistake. I should not have gone off these 2 meds at the same time. That is why I chose to reinstate the K at the reduced dose. I was only one week out from that. Remarkably, I have no psych or emotional symptoms of withdrawal but the physical symptoms are very uncomfortable ie severe tinnitus, headaches, numbness of my extremities and dizziness. In my defense, I had stopped the Z because my RLS GROUP on Facebook called Nightdancers said that Z can really aggravate RLS. That is why I chose to reinstate the K instead of the Zoloft. Miraculously, I think, I have slept well the past 5  nights and my RLS is relieved with 0.25 of reQuip.I am sorry this is so long and I hope it makes sense. I am doing all of this on my own. I will not see my dr until next month. She does not have a good understanding of taper and withdrawal anyway.

Thanks in advance for any opinions or advice now that I have really screwed this whole thnig up.

Hi!  Congrats on being off the poison.  You've done a good job!  It sounds like you have a very good attitude about this process.

Please stay the course and try to weather through your symptoms if you possibly can.  (I know easier said then done.)  99.9% of us do not get through this unscathed.  As Magrita mentioned, just know there's also an option to reinstate and taper again. Please visit the board to keep us posted on your progress.

Congrats again!  Wishing you the best.

You are the only one to reply to my introduction. I wonder if I did something wrong??

I did take magrita's advice and reinstate the Klonopin with a 0.125mg dose this am. I will try another at bedtime and follow this

regime for a few weeks and then begin to taper again. I really want to stay off the Zoloft which I stopped c/t just a few

days after my last dose of K. Not smart, I realize now.

If there is something else I can do to get more response to my intro, please let me know.  I really value the posts on this

page and hope to interact with several who have had a similar experience.

Don't be alarmed if a ton of folks don't reply to your issue.  There may be another thread very similar or exactly as you posed so us BBs feel it will get other replies.  Additionally, some of us are very "disabled" and it takes all the energy they can muster to just READ through the posts.

Look through the withdrawal support section.  You will be able to feed off those comments and may get some other ideas/suggestions.  Be well.
