Histamine Issue

I was wondering if anyone had a decent experience with antihistamines and then all of a sudden they turned on you. They actually rev me up now and I can't figure out why. Mind you I was taking them every night to help me sleep. I didn't really rotate them either. I just stuck with unisom since it worked for me. One BB suggested I take a break from them and reintroduce them to see if they work again. I good idea. I've been off for about a week or so.

 

Whenever I take them now, I'm all itchy. When I don't take them, I'm itchy. My immune system is clearly a mess. Watch this be another stupid wave.

I took big doses of benadryl and nyquil on and off for years to get to sleep, it always worked like a charm, and never did I notice any side effects or withdrawal. Now, only now that I am benzo wd, with perfect timing, does it suddenly .'turn on me', stop working, cause heartburn, and take on the side effect profile of a hard drug

Yes! That's exactly it! I'm so over these "safe" OTC meds. They definitely have side effects. Thank you so much for making me feel normal. I really needed to hear this
