I joined BenzoBuddies to gain support and hope from others suffering from similar situations.  I was on Ativan ~2 MGs per day for 3 months and have been off for nearly 1.5 months.

Hello MDL2016  Welcome to benzobuddies

You have come to the right place for hope and support, plenty of it here at BB.  I'm sorry if you are still suffering withdrawals, these symptoms can take quite a while to settle down, it does get better.  I think you will find some comfort communicating with those who are in the same situation as you are.  Congratulations on being benzo free.!

We have many supportive and kind members here who will support you and give sound advice. Feel free to check out the forum and post to any of our dedicated threads.

I don't know if you had read the Ashton Manual when you were going through your taper. It is an excellent resource about these types of medication and their effect on the body.

Here is a link to the manual: Professor Ashtons Manual

When you have a chance please write a signature line that will appear at the bottom of each post, describing your medication history. Here are the directions to do that: Create a signature

Welcome aboard

Welcome  :smitten: they really are meant to take for several weeks or less for a variety of reason. One of them is that they can be difficult to withdraw from past that point, especially if they are stopped suddenly or too rapidly. Were you able to do any kind of taper, and if so for how long? At six weeks in you are still fairly early into your withdrawal. My guess is that you will see some noticeable improvement in the next six weeks. Typically healing is a gradual process. Let us know how we can support you best, and again welcome. It is always nice to have a new member. :smitten:

Thanks for the replies.  I was really only on the Ativan for 1 month and tapered over two months.  I used a scale and reduced by 0.25 mg per week.  I understand this is a rather fast taper, but I didn't not want to take the chance of developing significant dependency while extending the taper since I was only using for 1 month.  It seemed logical at the time :)
