Hey guys, I'm in need of some reassurance here.

Over the past 6 weeks, I've noticed a loss of muscle in one side of my face. I mentioned it to my doctor because I was experiencing some numbness too, but she didn't seem worried about it. The numbness has gone away, but my face still looks and feels hollow on the left side. I pushed it out of my mind and decided it was just one of those withdrawal things, but now I've noticed some muscle loss in my left shoulder. The muscle that's left just feels... mushy and soft. I've gone into a bit of a spiral worrying about this, thinking that there's something seriously wrong with me. My fear is that it's going to continue throughout my body until I'm bed-ridden or worse.

I'm trying my best to counteract it. I've been making sure I'm eating enough calories and getting enough protein, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. The next thing I'm going to try is lifting weights. Maybe I'm just impatient, but my fearful mind is getting the better of me right now and I need to know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Thanks for responding. It really is insane what these drugs can do to us. It's terrible that you're going through this too, but it's comforting to know I'm not alone.

Its really crazy man forreal.  I think big pharma and doctors like to use people as test subjects to these drugs.  I feel like an experiment when i look in the mirror. in less than a year I look totally different .I should have just stuck to marijuana and never touched a pill.

Am glad to hear you guys talking about this because I look different too. While going through withdrawals my noise changed and turn a funny dark color on the sides.  When I look in the mirror I don't see the same noise I've had all of my life.  It just look slightly different in shape.  I don't know if the benzo shrinks cartilage or what but it definitely has changed the appearance of my noise and ears. My noise in now slightly sunk in on one side.  It wasn't like that two year ago before wd.

I feel the exact same way . My whole face seems like its sagging from muscle loss. Facial gestures take so much energy, its so strange!

In nearly 4 years I've lost muscle volume and tone.

I try to stay active, but it's not enough.

One problem is that my joints suffer due to a lack of muscle that

supports ligaments and stability, so now my shoulders and knees hurt.

I loved using weights before withdrawal, but I can't deal with that now.
