As 9 months 1 week out , I don't know if I ever heal . I'm having bad headache , awful dp/dr, bad anxiety , dizziness , intrusive thoughts , my body is so tired. I'm very frustrated and discouraged . My brain can't think straight . Lot of buddies are on their way for healing . I think 9 months is a long time to suffer this stupid journey that Doctor put me on . I'm frustrated bc I can't enjoy life and don't know when I can . Sorry for complaining . This just sucks big time .

Not if you keep telling yourself that, change your mind and you will change your life

positive thinking is great.. But it wont heal us from this.. I meditate twice a day and ive managed to find freedom from negative thought patterns and anxious ruminations.. Ive changed my self image.. Changed my perspective.. Still i'm sick . Point is.. Positive thinking will not change the suffering involved in benzo discontinuation syndrome ..

I agree, I tried positive talks , meditate , but did not help or speed up so I got discouraged , and stopped trying .

Nothing will take away the suffering... The best medicine is to accept how you feel.. Eventually you WILL recover, but it takes so long.. Focusing on getting better will lead to dissapointment.. Focusing on symptoms will lead to anxiety.. Just accept that you have no control and that one day you'll forget about it. (this is what i'm working on)

It's changed it for me I am still very sick but how I choose to perceive my situation changes how it effects my mind. I have talked myself down from some very dark moments during recovery .

You shouldn't give up on positive thinking Tracey it's something everyone should do even people not suffering benzo withdrawel. Yeah of course it won't heal you but bieng mindful and positive thinking  is a powerful tool since our minds are the most powerful tools on the planet. It is a lifestyle though choice though .

Meditation and positive self talk does work one must do it every single day . It  takes a while to see progress so one must have patience with it and not give up just because nothing's happening instantly.

One of the more frustrating aspects of this ordeal is knowing that it may take another year or two of agony before we start noticing the healing. That's more time spent not working and watching all my friends move on with their lives while my life is stagnant. I had to delete my facebook because I couldn't bare watching my friends and family enjoying themselves while I just pissed my life away. I've basically isolated myself from society.

Yes it is a very negative ordeal but on the plus side our healing is certain and we aren't dying . Things could be worse and in the big picture this is just a drop in the bucket. We still have our limbs and we will eventually have our minds back. We must be grateful for what we have while we are still breathing .

Social media is a negative thing in society anyway

Thanks remy. My personality is I will listen and try out things but I'm not patience an when things don't work I stop trying . I know things like meditation , eating healthy will take long time . I have to keep trying until it become a habit .

Hi Tracy, Yes it can take 2-3 weeks to practice positive thinking or exercise ...so on to become your habit. Yes it is not easy but right now nothing is easy. But we have to fight for our life and the reward is waiting for us at the end. OUR HAPPY LIFE. I'm working on it too. I know is hard, and I do understand you.

Love and healing.

Thank you Vica. I have learnt nothing is easy in our life, especially what we are going through now. But we have the power on how to response and act to whatever difficulty comes into our life right, we have the choice to make a good decision .
