Possible Tolerance Relief?

Recommended Posts

Hi, buddies. I was wondering if anyone in Benzo tolerance had gotten some relief by a Valium crossover, or simply in the withdrawal process itself. Many thanks in advance.

Like switch from Xanax or Klonopin? I had relief. I was on 2.5mg of xanax and 1mg of klonopin and switched to 40mg of Valium. Felt great almost immediately. No more morning stomach ache or doom. But I'm tapering so it's returning a bit.. Oh well.

Yes, exactly. I hope to crossover from 3 mg K and get some relief. My horrible luck. I put off my taper for a month and tolerance hit. Was feeling fine 2 weeks ago. Now anxiety, agoraphobia, muscle tightness. Manageable at this point, but such a damper on life.

I was paradoxical to the K and made a partial C/O to Valium. It helped loads and still does.

Sorry to hear that. I've only been able to taper this fast i think because of vigorous cardio and lots of prayer. Just trying to stay positive even when feeling withdrawals. It is hard though.. Stick with it

Bumping once to see if someone else will reply. Thanks.

Depending on how well you handle Valium it might be wise to give it a go. Or maybe taper a bit of the klonopin to avoid a rather large dose of Valium. Unfortunately I found Valium extremely sedating but others do well. But maybe this time try going a bit slower. I actually find smaller more frequent cuts work much better for me. I don't seem to get jolted. But trial and error. Everyone is really different. B

Thanks, Barb. I did a crossover and found it easy to tolerate the last time, but I did not start in tolerance. Believe me, if I can convince my doc, I will slow down to 5% from my historic 10% cuts. And when I hit the end of the taper, I will probably micro taper V. I just hope I don't have to stay in misery the whole way down because I am starting in tolerance.

I did Ativan in tolerance but I'm not sure about klonopin. Hard go but I want to say it's ok. You'll be fine. Just slowly. No rush this time. If you tolerate Valium well..awesome. Don't worry about tolerance. On the contrary...be thrilled you're getting out of it. For me much worse than withdrawal. B

I also found that cutting more frequently but by a lesser amount has helped a great deal with my Valium taper. That way, your brain keeps up rather than catching up. That got rid of my insomnia.
